Q. How long have you been with The Red Lion Inn?
A. Sam: I started at The Red Lion Inn in October of 2021 as a Production Assistant. For the 2022 season, I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to have hands on experience from the current Event Producers. I ended the 2022 season having assisted the Event Producers on 72 weddings on property before being promoted to my current role of Event Producer in January 2023. Before working at The Red Lion Inn, I worked as a Clinical Administrative Assistant at Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston!
A. Krystel: I started as an Event Producer at The Red Lion Inn in January 2022. My background includes: logistics coordination and event design. I went to college for Event Management, and received my B.S. in Event Management in 2017. Post college, I received a full time position at Exquisite Events Design after working as an Event Installer for them the summer before graduating college. I installed chandelier, lighting, draping, bars, etc, through New England. After a few years I moved back to Boston and worked for another event decor company doing custom builds. I was thankful enough to work at many amazing venues throughout New England and evening getting the opportunity to spend a week and half down in Miami, Florida for the Super Bowl.
Q. What do you do day-to-day?
A. Sam and Krystel: Every day varies, which we love. Our days consist of anything and everything, including catching up on emails, meeting with clients, hosting private tastings, editing client files with details, making design decks for clients considering rental upgrades, and prepping for the weekend. Many of our weekends consist of weddings and events!
Q. What is your favorite part about being an Event Producer?
A. Sam: I love that we are assigned couples shortly after they book, so that I can get to know and guide them through the entire planning process and see it all come together for them on their wedding day. I feel grateful to play a small role in such a big moment in so many people’s lives! We truly have the best clients and couples!
A. Krystel: I love that my job varies from day to day – it keeps it interesting. Every client is different, so it is always a new experience working with couples and their families, making every event unique and special. It’s truly an honor to be able to be along side so many different families and helping them during one of the most memorable days of their lives.
Q. What is your favorite part about working at The Red Lion Inn?
A. Sam: From the moment I stepped on property for my interview, I felt welcomed by the entire staff. I always try to give 110%, and after three years here, can confidently say that everyone else working at the Inn does too.
A. Krystel: Our team is really close, which creates a supportive work environment. Everyone always wants the best for our clients, and each person will always go out of their way to make sure every event is perfect. We truly work as a team to ensure that of our team is providing the best experience.
Q. What is one piece of advice you give to couples for their wedding day?
A. Sam: I truly believe that your wedding day goes by too fast – I encourage my couples to try and stay together when mingling with guests, make sure my couple has a few quiet moments by themselves and have been suggesting ending their reception with a private last dance!
A. Krystel: Since it’s their day, I always tell our couples to do what will make them happy. Wedding day is stressful enough, so taking some time to enjoy the little moments is really important too.
Q. We all know coffee is a morning must-have. Where do you stop for yours?
A. Sam: Marylous! Fun fact, I worked at Marylous for almost 6 years!
A. Krystel: Starbucks!
Q. Where is your dream honeymoon destination?
A. Sam: Somewhere warm. Actual location TBD. 😆
A. Krystel: New Zealand!
Q. You have a long weekend off – where are you headed?
A. Sam: Depends on the season! I love to go up to Wells, Maine, sight see in New York City or relax down in Naples, FL!
A. Krystel: Somewhere up north, by the beach or in the mountains! I love to hike, try new food, check out local breweries (especially if there’s live music) and travel!
