A + T’s Spooktacular Halloween Wedding!

A + T’s Spooktacular Halloween Wedding!

By Sarah Adamski

Happy Halloween, friends! 🎃

We wanted to take a moment to reflect on last year’s spooktacular Halloween themed wedding at the inn, complete with everything from a Halloween candy bar, spooky signature drinks, and of course – costumes!

Thank you to A + T for letting us showcase their beautiful Halloween wedding.

What made you decide on having a Halloween themed wedding?

A: Halloween has always been one of T’s favorite holidays, his family loved celebrating it and now it is something that the two of us love celebrating together. We would host annual Halloween parties, and shortly after getting engaged we decided that for our wedding we would throw the ultimate Halloween party! The original date that we had set was when Halloween fell on a Saturday night where there was actually going to be a blood moon, but unfortunately we had to postpone due to the pandemic. However, postponing the date did give us more time to plan!

What makes Halloween so special for you and your partner?

A: We love everything about Halloween, from the decorating process to watching scary movies to dressing up. Fall in general is one of our favorite seasons – we always take an annual apple picking trip, we stock up in August on all of the fall scented candles – we’re just fall people!

What made you choose the Red Lion Inn for your wedding venue?

A: We absolutely loved the space – it had such a cozy feel and the detailing was incredible, we love the gold lions throughout the inn. We especially loved the Barn – we knew after seeing it that it was the perfect place for us to host our Halloween wedding! We were also so impressed by how well the staff took care of us and our guests, and were so accommodating, especially during the pandemic. We felt comfortable throughout the whole process, and could not be happier with how everything turned out.

What were some of your favorite festive touches that you had at your wedding?

A: We had welcome signs that looked like horror movie posters, which were created by Brunchzilla that looked incredible. For table numbers and a seating chart, we used characters from scary movies. Our signature cocktails had names relating back to The Nightmare Before Christmas, like ‘Frog’s Breath’ and ‘Deadly Nightshade.’

We also had a candy bar that had all of the classic Halloween treats. Our playlist included lot’s of spooky Halloween songs, like ‘Witchy Woman’ and ‘I Put a Spell on You.’ My brother created a coffin ring box for us to showcase our rings in, which was such an incredible touch. We had our afterparty in the Cave, and all of our guests dressed up in Halloween costumes! We had the best night, it was such a personalized and positive experience. It was unique to us, and reflective of personalities and relationship.

Are there any Halloween themed anniversary traditions that you’ll carry on?

A: Absolutely! We will definitely return to the inn to have dinner at the Tavern, and Dark and Stormy cocktails are one of our favorite drinks to celebrate Halloween.
